VANCOUVER, BC – March 14, 2011 – IBC Advanced Alloys Corp. (TSX-V: IB) (“IBC” or the “Company”) announces it will host, the 10th IEA International Workshop on Beryllium Technology (“BeWS-10”) to be held in Vancouver, British Columbia from October 23 – 26, 2011.
The focus and objective of BeWS-10 is to disseminate and promote the results of research and technology development in areas relevant to beryllium utilization in nuclear power systems, both fission and fusion. Papers presenting original research in topic areas such as modeling and experimental validation, beryllide applications, thermal and mechanical properties, among many others, are solicited for presentation and publication.
IBC is working closely in association with the IEA and the International Organizing Committee to present this workshop and has the support of beryllium and nuclear industry leaders including (but not limited to): Materion Corporation (formerly Brush Wellman), Kazatomprom, the National Atomic Company of Kazakhstan, the US Department of Energy’s Idaho Falls National Laboratory, the Japan Atomic Energy Agency. The 9th IEA International Workshop was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan in September 2009.
