VANCOUVER, BC – May 2, 2011 – IBC Advanced Alloys Corp. (TSX-V: IB) (“IBC” or the “Company”) provides an update on the 10th IEA International Workshop on Beryllium Technology (“BeWS-10”) to be held in Vancouver, British Columbia from October 23 – 26, 2011 and an extension of the deadline for abstract submission.
BeWS-10 is currently accepting abstract submissions for potential presentation and publication. All abstracts should be submitted electronically via the web-based submission platform, which is available at www.bews10.com. BeWS-10 encourages a wide range of presentation topics, and therefore has decided to extend the abstract submission due date until June 15, 2011.
Abstracts submitted will be reviewed by the BeWS-10 Program Committee who will determine the acceptance of full length papers for presentation. The abstracts should clearly communicate the topic and impart innovative theory with a focus on one of the following topics:
- Production, forming and joining
- Chemical compatibility and corrosion
- Irradiation effects

- Microstructural evolution
- Mechanical & physical property degradation
- Composition control and characterization

- Beryllium oxide
The focus and objective of BeWS-10 is to disseminate and promote the results of research and technology development in areas relevant to beryllium utilization in nuclear power systems, both fission and fusion.
